Transformagic

Transformagic was the first exhibition of Automagic, the artist’s most successful book. A selection of 528 photographs taken with phones and compact cameras during the last 12 years of the artist’s life were presented as an installation of a multitude of photographic objects in space. The photographs, which do not present a clear narrative, but merely an exploration of the artist’s archive through photomontage, reproduction and digital manipulation, are combined in the exhibition with various objects found by the artist during her stay in Ljubljana. The in situ installation which functions as a kind of multi-layered sculpture, demonstrates the inventiveness, adventurousness and infinite possibilities of the medium of photography, and shows how the computer and the human mind can act as processors of the ways in which we view the world.
